In 2017 we partnered with a local friend, Trish Mandewo, and shipped a container of gently used shoes to her people in Zimbabwe. Originally from Zimbabwe, it was after a trip back home that Trish realized the significant need for shoes. 

in 2018, our Founder Kelly and Board Director Desiree travelled to Harare, Zimbabwe and spent time giving shoes to some of the most under-privileged people in the country. 

They spent several days visiting orphanages and giving shoes to children in need. One of the days, they drove about an hour out of the city of Harare into a very rural and remote village called Mhondoro to visit an orphanage and give shoes to children. It was an overwhelming experience to see how much of an impact a pair of shoes can make on a child. It was a very strong reminder that we can never underestimate how meaningful something we take for granted can be to someone else. In this case, the shoes represented hope, love and opportunity for these beautiful children.
